Meet The Author

Ashley fell in love with writing from a young age. She published her first book, a collection of poems, in fourth grade as a part of a school-wide project. Years later, she would use the same publishing company to publish her students' work in themed anthologies where every student got to be an author. Today, she still has her copy of "Poem Planet" from fourth grade, along with every book her students made together.

Ashley grew up in Massachusetts, and even though she's lived her entire adult life in Florida, she still travels "home" every year to visit family and friends and spend time in her favorite city, Boston.

Before writing her first novel, Ashley wrote a different sort of book- her dissertation for her PhD, which focused on community advocate perspectives and equity in gifted education programs. Ashley remains a passionate advocate for students, continuing her work as a career educator in her community.

In her free time, Ashley loves to spend time with her friends and family. She's currently on a mission to visit every US National Park with her husband and daughter
